Zoe Strauss is South Philly photographer I came to know in 2005/2006 and her work of “down and out people” in her neighborhood struck me immediately. I did an interview with her for NY Arts Magazine, and she invited me to participate in a tete a tete about her work for a public program at the Whitney Museum dedicated in her honor. The evening, called IPO: Initial Public Projects: Zoe Strauss was held on Sept 15th, 2006 and was a fantastic success. Zoe has witten about the evening in detail on her blog here.
